On the banks of the Sand River in Kenya’s Masai Mara National Reserve, a dedicated research team is hard at work protecting the various species of African pangolin.
Based at Sala’s Camp, the Pangolin Project uses GPS tracking devices, camera traps, and a burrow scope to gather invaluable data to be used to inform protection strategies and raise awareness of the plight of these unstudied mammals.
Guests of Sala’s Camp can enjoy learning about the work of this incredible team and may even be lucky enough to spot one of the area’s several resident Temminck’s ground pangolins.
