To celebrate International Chef’s Day, the kitchen teams at Elewana safari camps and hotels in East Africa rallied together for a Great Elewana Bake Off.
Needless to say, there were some very delicious results.
The culinary wizards at Elewana Arusha Coffee Lodge prepared seeded sourdough bread using a 2,000-year-old technique that requires no yeast, whereas the Elewana Loisaba Star Beds team opted for mandazis, a delicious doughnut-like confection that originated on the Swahili coast.
Elewana Sand River Masai Mara produced an extraordinary vanilla and lime sponge cake, topped with creative decorations, followed by cinnamon buns for teatime, and finishing off with show-stopping chocolate cupcakes topped with strawberry icing and a chocolate dipped strawberry.
