Madero Tango Arrives at Iguazú
January 31, 2020 - 2 minutes readArgentina’s national dance is spicing up nights at Iguazú Falls thanks to a new partnership between Madero Tango — the famous dance and music show from Buenos Aires — and Iguazú Grand Resort.
“Madero Tango Iguazú” takes the stage every night (except Tuesday) in a theater at the upscale resort. Prices start at US$66 per person (dinner & tango show) or $44 per person (show only).
In addition to the show, there’s plenty of time to savor gourmet cuisine at the hotel’s two restaurants or test your luck (and skill) at the resort casino. And don’t worry about bringing the kids: if they’re not old enough to appreciate the tango show, they’ll have plenty of (supervised) fun at the Iguazú Grand kids’ club.
The show features a live orchestra and 25 performers in full costume. Designed for both local and overseas visitors, the evening offers a journey through the history of tango.
Declared an Intangible Cultural Heritage of Humanity by UNESCO — the cultural equivalent of a World Heritage Site — tango is a fascinating visual experience that combines music, dance and fabulous costumes.
Tango traces its roots to late 19th-century Buenos Aires, where recent European immigrants blended traditions like waltz and polka with Hispanic and African genres to create an Argentine icon.
“Madero Tango Iguazú” also gives patrons a chance to learn tango through a class hosted by the show couples.
The theater features an exclusive drinks bar that’s open all night, even during the tango class. The bar offers different drinks options, with and without alcohol, at affordable prices.
