Forget Zac Efron. The real star of the first episode of his new show — Down to Earth with Zac Efron — is the volcanic island of Iceland in the North Atlantic. Who are we kidding, though? Zac Efron is certainly easy on the eyes and we can’t lie about enjoying staring at him throughout the episode.
Now available on Netflix, the eight-part series features Zac traveling the world in search of the secrets to good health, long life and a higher level of eco-consciousness. But, with a considerable dose of thrill-seeking and extreme adventures for good measure.
Part travelogue, part eco-warrior series, Down to Earth is a journey of deep self and cultural awareness as the star of the High School Musical trilogy and many other films explores how the world lives, eats, prays, plays and in some cases struggles to survive.
And the very first stop on Zac’s globetrotting quest is Iceland where Zac and his sidekick — superfood guru Darren Olien — learn about alternative energy and how a country is able to power itself from 100% renewable energy sources.
Along the way they take a dip in the Blue Lagoon, perch on the edge of Gullfoss waterfall, dine at the legendary Dill Restaurant and visit a chocolate factory in Reykjavik.
Down to Earth: Iceland is a must watch for anyone contemplating an Iceland ProCruises cruise around the island or land journey with Iceland ProTravel. And visit the official series website here.
