Terranova reports that several international media outlets have run glowing stories about Costa Rica during the pandemic and recommended the Central American nation as one of the best places to visit after the crises has passed.

The U.S. television show Good Morning America featured a British family who recreated the Costa Rican rainforest in their home after canceling their trip to our country.

The Ashton family spent two weeks creating a rainforest in the basement of their house after the unexpected cancellation of their “trip of a lifetime” to Costa Rica due to Covid-19. Dan Ashton his daughters Florence (8 years old) and Eloise (7) were “understandably devastated” after researching Costa Rica’s rainforest animals and counting down the days till departure.

“The most important thing right now for all of us is to stay home, safe, and protecting others,” Ashton told the TV show. “When we can retake this amazing trip, we will appreciate it even more.”

Condé Nast Traveler magazine highlighted Costa Rica as an example to the world of a “green destination” for its sustainable tourism model.

Canadian World Traveller published an extensive report called “Listening to the Sounds of the Rainforest” which mentioned Costa Rica’s biodiversity as well as Arenal and Rincón de la Vieja volcanoes.

In Spain, the digital version of El Mundo newspaper published a series of mandalas for kids or grownups to color inspired by Costa Rican animals like the hummingbird, jaguar, sloth and owl — to help fill the long hours at home during the pandemic lockdown.

Lonely Planet and The Times newspaper of London are two other media that have highlighted traveling to Costa Rica since the lockdown started.
