Located in Kenya’s fabled Masai Mara region, the Mara Siana Foundation at the recently opened Mara Siana Camp is dedicated to two crucial goals: expanding protected land for wildlife and fostering harmony between communities and the natural world.

The foundation mission is clear: more protected land and stronger connections. Protecting wildlife and preserving habitats in the Mara.

“We need to promote development that does not destroy our environment or undermine our cultural heritage,” says Wangari Maathai, the Kenya environmentalist who was awarded the Noble Peace Prize in 2004.

That’s exactly what the Mara Siana Foundation is already doing in the Ripoi Conservancy — promoting harmony between humans and wildlife for their mutual and wholistic benefit.

During its short life, the foundation has helped save more than 1,000 animals and place 13,500 acres of land under protection, as well as signing up than 100 members worldwide.
