Some time ago, as part of their commitment to embrace a sustainable and environmentally respectful philosophy, La Coralina Island House in Panama’s paradise Bocas del Toro islands decided to stop harvesting flowers from the local vegetation for their floral arrangements.

Recently the boutique beachside property decided to upgrade this policy by using potted plants in the guest rooms, restaurants and all the other spaces, not only to preserve the local flora, but to foster the coexistence of a vibrant and diverse ecosystem within our gardens.

A floral paradise awaits around every corner at La Coralina. Guests can easily immerse themselves in a miniature botanical garden, filled with an astonishing variety of tropical plants. From lush palms to the delicate fragrance of ylan ylan, each plant has been carefully selected to create a harmonious and ecological environment.

The hotel boasts an impressive collection of palms, including the Phoenix Palm, Carpenteria Palm, and majestic Bismarck Palm. The gardens burst with color thanks to flowering plants like Veranera, Heliconia, and Flamboyán. At the same time, they attract pollinators such as butterflies and bees, which are essential for maintaining ecosystem balance. A told, La Coralina’s gardens boast more than 50 species of plants, trees, shrubs and herbs.
