Voted one of the top 25 beaches in the world by TripAdvisor Travellers in 2015, Diani Beach is 10 km of palm fringed, powder-white sandy beach lapped by the warm waters of the Indian Ocean. Protected by a coral reef 600m offshore, Diani Beach enjoys perfect, safe swimming conditions.

unnamed (11)Situated on north Diani Beach far from the crowds, AfroChic is the perfect place to enjoy a relaxing beach holiday, or take part in the myriad of exciting adventures and activities on offer. AfroChic is certainly one of Africa’s best kept secrets; a marriage of romance, African style and all that is best in East African hospitality. With only 10 individually-designed guest rooms, each with its own en suite bathroom, balcony and sun-loungers, AfroChic is reminiscent of an expansive family villa.

Guests particularly value the flexibility that allows all meals to be taken as, when and where desired, chosen from an expansive a la carte menu offering internationally and locally inspired cuisine.

The gardens, surrounding the fresh water swimming pool, are an abundance of vibrant colours from the bougainvillea to the frangipani trees and bright yellow plumage of the weaver birds.

The hotel has earned itself a reputation for it’s “home away from home” atmosphere, with excellent seafood and friendly service, and has a dedicated following of regular repeat guests many of whom travel with their entire family year after year.

Diani is on the migratory route for humpback whales, travelling close to shore when heading north to their winter breeding grounds and then south to their Antarctic feeding grounds. It is also an important breeding ground for the Green Sea Turtle. Through Land & Life Foundation, the charitable face of Elewana, AfroChic has partnered with Diani Turtle Watch to secure a section of beach high above sea level with a 24 hr guard to protect rare turtle eggs. Some fortunate guests witness a hatching and the beginning of an incredible journey.
