Gondar Hills Hotel Ready to Rock Ethiopia

Our recent site visit to the Gondar Hills Hotel (to be managed by AHA Hotels) reveals that Jacaranda Tours’s new luxury resort in the historic northern Ethiopian city is nearing completion.Construction on the stone-and-glass main building and 110 suites and rooms was well underway and some of the cutting-edge sod roofs were being planted as we toured the mountaintop property. The rooftop swimming pool and its cascading waterfalls were almost ready for water and you could easily imagine yourself staring out across the city to the famous Gondar Citadel from the poolside patio.
One of the nation’s first luxury property outside of Addis Ababa, the Gondar Hills is sure to turn heads with its striking modern design and turn the Ethiopian tourism business on its head with features and a standard of service never before seen outside the national capital. In addition to the eco-friendly (and energy saving) sod roofs, the resort will also feature restaurant, juice bar and gift shop.
