Read All About It: Iceland Circumnavigations

January 3, 2018 - Less than a minute read

USA Today gives the lowdown on sailing around Iceland in a strange little story called “A Short History of Iceland Circumnavigations.” Short because all but one of the voyages the article describes have taken place in the last 20 years.

Quotable quote: “Viking explorer Garðar Svavarsson is credited with being the first person to circumnavigate Iceland by boat, in the year 870, and over the centuries he was followed by a number of other explorers and adventurers. But it’s only been in recent years that cruise and tour companies have begun to offer such a journey.”
