The best-known of all Iceland treks, this trail leads from the Landmannalaugar Valley in the southern highlands to the great Eyjafjallajökull Glacier.
On the way, hikers cross the world’s third-biggest geothermal zone, and pass through yellow-colored rhyolite mountains, black volcanic deserts and lush green valleys.
Iceland ProTravel offers five-day guided treks with overnights in comfy mountain huts with your luggage transported between overnight sites. Throughout the journey, groups of six to 12 trekkers are led by an experienced Icelandic trekking guide.
