Reykjavík International Literary Festival

This biannual festival has been held since 1985 and is one of the most important literary festivals in Europe. Meet authors, attend readings and seminars or dance with your favorite author at the Literary Ball!

Set in cozy venues in downtown Reykjavík, the festival offers interesting and entertaining programs for book enthusiasts. Over a span of more than 30 years, the event has welcomed Nobel-prize winners, novelists, historians, political activists, philosophers, cartoonists and more to take part in lively programs. All programs are in English and there’s no admission fee.

DesignMarch

Iceland´s largest design festival focuses on progressive design and innovation. The event heralds new and surprising approaches and is a vibrant platform for ideas, diverse perspectives and knowledge as driving forces that enrich and enhance society.

DesignMarch brings together all disciplines of design: fashion, architecture, furniture and interior design, graphic design and product design. Spread between individual, group and students shows, each year the event attracts around 400 participants, with an increasing number of foreign exhibitors and visitors coming to Iceland specifically for the festival.
