Colombian Journeys has launched two new local immersion experiences in Cartagena on the Caribbean coast — half-day adventures that revolve around food, music, soccer and home life.

Discover Cartagena’s rich Caribbean coastal as a local home opens its doors to make you feel like part of the family. Discover how they live, the traditions and customs that make them unique, listen to native music, drink cold beers (if you wish), shares laughs and anecdotes, and enjoy a delicious dinner prepared by a local mom with recipes based on the best local ingredients. Duration: 3 hours.

Soccer In the Neighborhood
In Cartagena, you’re born kicking and rung after a ball. This urban adventure starts with a 20-minute drive from city’s Historic Center to a typical neighborhood where soccer is popular. Meet with local kids passionate and join one of their six-player teams for a soccer encounter of approximately 45 minutes. At the end of the game, share some snacks and presents with your new friends at a local house. Durations: 3 hours.

Discovering Champeta: A Caribbean Rhythm 
During the 1970s, African music invaded Cartagena. As time went by, Cartagenians created what is known today as Champeta. During this harmonious experience, learn more about local music and culture, and learn to move your hips to the rhythm of champeta. Duration: 5 hours.

Cooking With a Local Mom
Caribbean gastronomy is one of the main attractions of Cartagena, flavors that will delight any palate. In this experience, you’ll learn how to cook like a Cartagena native as a local mom demonstrates all her secrets to prepare the true delicacies of Cartagena. The session takes place in a local house in the outskirts of the Old City where you will be welcomed with beer, music and amazing ambiance as you prepare an entrée, main course and dessert. Duration: 4 hours.
