Las Torres Exclusive Trek to Valle Bader
April 11, 2016 - 1 minute readDid you know that there are some excursions that are exclusive to the Hotel Las Torres? One of our guides favorite excursion is to lead an adventurous trek to Valle Badar, a combined horseback and hiking trek. This secret corner of the Torres del Paine National Park is rarely visited by anyone.
Departing from the hotel on horseback, the route follows 9 km (5 miles) of the “W” Trail before reaching the junction of a small side trail that veers off to the right. At this point, the group leaves the horses behind, setting off on foot on the steep climb into the remote Bader Valley. Along the way, the trail passes through forest and a base camp for mountain climbers before rising into a rocky area beside a stream where we pause and consider the scenery. Tucked between Monte Almirante Nieto and Los Cuernos, the vale offers an incredibly close-up glimpse at the granite faces and an amazing view across Nordenskjöld and Pehoé lakes to the pampas.
The entire excursion takes 6 to 8 hours and is considered difficult. Some horseback riding experience is necessary. Contact Hotel Las Torres for more information.
