Designed to bring visitors and locals together, a boma dinner at Avani Victoria Falls Resort is an excellent opportunity for guests to join fellow adventurers and recount the day’s amazing wildlife sightings over an alfresco dining experience at the resort’s Mukuni Boma restaurant where beautiful Zambian rituals are performed on the banks of the majestic Zambezi River.

After taking their seats in a serene setting evoking a Zambian village, guests are served a welcome drink of a local brew that prepares the palate for what’s to follow: a delectable four-course menu of pan-African staples and game meat grilled over hot coals.

Illuminated by lanterns, candles and a fire pit, the enchanting scene provides a backdrop for a night of traditional storytelling, bush songs and dance performed by traditional singers, djembe drummers and expert Ngoni dancers.

The engaging and welcoming atmosphere means guests can fully take part in the evening’s festivities by joining the dance and beating the drums to get into the rhythm of the night.

The Mukuni Boma Cultural Experience takes place between 6:30 and 10:30 p.m. every Tuesday, Thursday and Saturday at the Avani Victoria Falls.
