La Coralina Islands House in Panama’s paradise Bocas del Toro islands has just launched a new surfing school exclusively for guests of the luxury Caribbean seaside retreat.
The venture is one of the resort’s most ambitious guest programs, curated under the guidance of globally recognized coaches who are truly passionate ocean enthusiasts.
With instruction in English or Spanish, the beginner lessons take place on Carenero Island near Bocas del Toro town, on a paradisiacal beach flanked by coconut palms and a crystalline sea that add a magic to the surfing experience.
The rate includes transportation, snacks, surfboards, leash, wax, rash guards, sunblock, hydration and two to three coaches. Advanced reservations are required and can be made at La Coralina Spa.
“Our lessons are usually for a full morning,” says La Coralina Surf School coach Adrianna La China Cano. “Unlike common surf schools, we do not work with a time limit — we give you a surfing experience where the student decides the time limit.”
If you already know how to surf and want to improve your style or discover the best breaks in Bocas del Toro, La Coralina’s surf instructors can provide coaching to help develop better performance, as well as guiding services for experienced and professional surfers.
“There’s no age limits,” says Adrianna. “In fact, one of our star students is 72 years old and he achieved his dream of riding waves in his first class. So if you dream of riding a wave, it will never be too early or too late. We are waiting for you to make your dream come true!”
