Trentino

Trentino is located in northern Italy in the heart of the Italian Alps. Boasting some of Europe’s most spectacular scenery and outdoor adventures, the lake and mountain-filled region lies within easy reach of other top Italian destinations like Milan, Venice and Verona.

The provincial capital and largest city, Trento is famous for its Medieval and Renaissance old town as well as refreshing Trentodoc spumante sparkling wines. Often called the “Silicon Valley of the Alps,” the city is also a hub for university education and scientific research, and one of Italy’s leaders in quality of life and sustainability.

Trento is a great starting point for exploring the spectacular Trentino countryside, a mosaic of snowcapped mountains, scenic Alpine valleys and an incredible 297 lakes. Among its natural wonders are the soaring peaks of the Dolomites (a UNESCO World Heritage Site) and massive Lake Garda, Italy’s largest inland waterbody.

This diverse geography enables Trentino to attract visitors year-round, especially those who enjoy outdoor sports and adventure activities. In winter, the province boasts more than 500 miles (800 km) of skiing and snowboarding slopes, while in summer the lakes and mountains provide unlimited scope for water-sports, hiking, biking and climbing.
