What’s on your travel bucket list? Gorilla trekking in Africa? Tiger safari in India? Taking a bush ranger course in South Africa or Botwana?

Fit For Trips training programs — which include both resistance and endurance components — are optimized for whatever your Africa or Asia trip itinerary might be.

Over the past decade, the Atlanta-based company has developed more than a thousand crafted fitness programs that have transformed travelers in over 30 countries including Uganda, Chile, Britain, Italy, Iceland and Ecuador.

The programs have helped people prepare for a wide range of active outdoor activities from trekking, skiing and backpacking, to bicycling, hiking and even urban walking.

Fit For Trips founder and president Marcus Shapiro creates these cutting-edge travel fitness programs using data gleaned from your medical history (i.e. injuries, surgeries, etc.), activity profile (i.e. current and past exercise experience), available training days and your existing equipment, as well as your personal circumstances and lifestyle.

“There is nothing technically more complicated than what any of you have encountered online before,” says Shapiro. “However, I always encourage clients to schedule a chat within a few days of receiving their program. We will go over the content and features to ensure smooth sailing from start date to departure date.

“Ninety-five percent of the time a phone call is sufficient. If necessary, I use virtual meeting software so you can see the content on my computer monitor as I walk you through the features and training details.”
